Orbis International Symposium on Eye Care For All

The Symposium was held on 20 December 2015 (Sunday) during 12.00 -13.00 hr at the Ibrahim Auditorium of BUHS. It was chaired by Prof AHM Enayet Hussain and co-chaired by Dr Munir Ahmed. Various presentations were delivered in the Seminar which was attended by around 300 clinicians, researchers, and health care activists involved in eyecare programs.

7th Regional Public Health Conference

During two-day Conference on 6-7 December, 2016, 16 Lectures and 40 free papers were presented on noncommunicable diseases, globalization and health, geriatric medicine, mental health, health policy and program, injury, water and sanitation, health care financing, telemedicine, nutrition, and medical education. About three hundred physicians, scientists, health professionals, activists of different government and non-governmental organizations, faculty members and students from home and abroad (including those from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Somalia, Australia, and the USA) attended the Conference.

2nd Summit of South Asian Federation of Endocrine Soceity (SAFES) Dhaka, Bangladesh, 24th to 26th April 2016 :

The purpose of the summit was to share upcoming scientific information about burning as well as common endocrine disorders. The summit would expand knowledge, and extend network with peers and renowned experts of this region through interactive sessions. It was expressed that through this summit SAFES would be able to create appropriate forum to address common endocrine disorders by effective collaboration and awareness of existing advocacy program in each member country sharing resources among national endocrine societies in South Asia region.

22nd Diabetes and Endocrine Conference 2016

In association with Bangladesh Endocrine Society, BADAS organized the 22nd Diabetes and Endocrine Conference along with 5 satellite symposia on 8-10 December, 2016. About 800 participants from home and abroad participated in the event. Various fields related to Diabetes and Endocrine were focused in the conference. Scientists from home and abroad presented 45 papers in various sessions.
The main attraction of the meeting was the spectrum of its contents in which down to earth practical and clinical discussions were balanced with basic scientific presentations. Scientists from home and abroad presented 40 papers in various sessions. The Conference provided a unique environment for socialization and interaction among physicians, researchers, technologists and health care activists in the region.

5th Biannual Meeting of Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG)

Diabetes in Asia Study Group is a non - profit organization, formed as a result of a meeting of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) held in Cape Town in 2006 and aimed to encourage research in the characterization of diabetes within the regions, to promote exchange of opinions, and foster advocacy. Individuals with in the field of research interest, diabetes care and advocacy would be eligible for membership. This group was a continuation of the Diabetes in Asia Conferences, a movement which was started in 1999.

The 5th Biannual Meeting of Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG) was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 16-17th April, 2016 continued the tradition of successful meetings relating to the field of Diabetes care and management in the region, offered a unique opportunity to establish and further development of regional collaboration and exchange of information. The Conference included scientific contributions from different parts of the world, covered the latest information, treatment and developments in the field of Diabetes management. It was of interest both to the doctors and researchers, as well as the other health care professionals working in the field of diabetes management.
