BADAS-DASG Annual Conference 2026 Held in Dhaka
The BADAS-DASG Annual Conference 2026, a major scientific gathering focusing on diabetes prevention, treatment, research and healthcare innovation, was held in Dhaka on 7–8 August 2026.
Organized by the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (BADAS) in collaboration with the Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG), the conference brought together leading diabetologists, physicians, healthcare professionals, researchers and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge and discuss emerging challenges in diabetes care.

The official theme of the conference was “Advancing Diabetes Care Through Innovation, Education and Equity.” The theme highlighted the growing need to combine scientific innovation, professional education and equitable access to quality diabetes care.
Scientific Exchange and Regional Collaboration
The conference featured scientific sessions designed to promote discussion on contemporary issues in diabetes management and prevention. According to the published scientific programme, the first day included a DASG-IDF Symposium, with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the welcome speech delivered by National Professor A.K. Azad Khan.
The event also reflected the increasingly important role of regional collaboration in addressing diabetes across Asia. DASG has been actively involved in international scientific collaboration, including a 2026 consensus statement with the Asian-Pacific Society of Hypertension on the management of hypertension in people with diabetes.
Focus on Innovation, Education and Equity
The conference emphasized the importance of strengthening diabetes care through evidence-based medicine, research, continuing professional education and innovative approaches to prevention and treatment. Discussions at the conference provided an opportunity for healthcare professionals to share experiences and explore practical strategies for improving outcomes for people living with diabetes.
The emphasis on equity is particularly significant for South Asia, where diabetes is an increasing public-health challenge and access to appropriate prevention, diagnosis and long-term care remains uneven.
A Platform for Future Diabetes Care
The BADAS-DASG Annual Conference 2026 further strengthened Dhaka's role as an important regional platform for scientific dialogue on diabetes. The conference created opportunities for professionals from Bangladesh and other countries to exchange ideas, build collaboration and promote improved standards of diabetes care.
The Diabetic Association of Bangladesh officially listed the BADAS-DASG Annual Conference 2026 among its major events, dated 7 August 2026.
The conference concluded with renewed emphasis on collaboration, innovation and education as essential components of the continuing fight against diabetes in Bangladesh and across Asia.
