বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (বুয়েট) সাবেক উপাচার্য ও বাংলাদেশ ডায়াবেটিক সমিতির কোষাধ্যক্ষ বিশিষ্ট শিক্ষাবিদ অধ্যাপক এমএইচ খান (মোশাররফ হোসেন খান) আজ মঙ্গলবার (০৭ জুলাই ২০২৬ তারিখে) ইব্রাহিম কার্ডিয়াক হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন থাকা অবস্থায় ইন্তেকাল করেছেন (ইন্নালিল্লাহে ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহে রাজেউন)। মৃত্যুকালে তাঁর বয়স হয়েছিল ৯৩ বছর। বাংলাদেশ ডায়াবেটিক সমিতির কোষাধ্যক্ষ হিসাবে দায়িত্ব পালনের আগে তিনি ১৯৮৭ থেকে ১৯৯১ সাল পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (বুয়েট) উপাচার্য ছিলেন। এছাড়া তিনি ছিলেন আহসানউল্লাহ বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা উপাচার্য। মৃত্যুকালে তিনি তিন ছেলে ও দুই মেয়েসহ অসংখ্য গুণগ্রাহী রেখে গেছেন। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে বাংলাদেশ ডায়াবেটিক সমিতি এবং এর অঙ্গ প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করেছে। আগামীকাল বুধবার সকাল ৯টায় বারডেম জেনারেল হাসপাতাল প্রাঙ্গণে তাঁর প্রথম জানাজা এবং বাদ জোহর বুয়েটে দ্বিতীয় দফা নামাজে জানাজার পর আজিমপুর কবরস্থানে দাফন করা হবে।
